The metaphor and the linkage of Luweero bi - election to the entire country. As reviewed on the various vindictive “staged” polls run recently in the newspapers. A reflection.
The NRM –Government failures to deliver in Luweero triangle “Mecca” which is flip-flop idea to use the reference. No offence, based on the physical appearance politically, economically, socially etc, in the area.
Centered on poor representation according to the father of this “Mecca” the President. The argument according to the “Ssabalwanyi”, is bad representations, it high time Luweero voted for rightful candidate in NRM Flag bearer.
To a layman “wanaichi” in Luweero, the president sounds spot on. This has been the song everywhere during campaigns. Yet to the members of PGCP forum, they think otherwise. We have followed Luweero triangle politics and the reason the elections may go into opposition’s favor by end of 22nd may 2014.
The NRM failure this time maybe due to dwindling credibility in alleviating the poverty, which is eating up people - live in the inversely proportionate “mecca” to the of the holy land, according to Islam. There is total failure with projects by the ministry in charge of Luweero triangle.
Luweero systematically, reflects the Book by Chinua Achebe (The Madman).The group that talks about these brave mistakes committed by the regime is harassed, call all sorts of names – anti – government, failures, fools, blind etc.
In the Book (The Madman), a noble farmer from one village, Mr. Nwibe ventures into a journey to the market place at a very hot day. (Clearly seen in Luweero, the harsh / hostile reception towards the NRM, where a candidate aims at children to go and tell their parents to vote for NRM Flag bearer).
Back to the book, a noble farmer decides to have a bath in one of the streams to cool off, not far from the path to the market. Removed his expensive “akwete” clothes and placed them nearby before entering the water. While he was bathing a madman came and grabbed “akwete” clothes and took off.
Seeing what was happening to his “akwete” Nwibe, still stark naked, waded out of water and began chasing the madman. However, because Nwibe, was the one chasing the madman nude, people thought he, Nwibe, was the madman? The real madman took off with “akwete” he stole wrapped around his body.
News spread like wild fire, that Nwibe was bewitched and lost his head. Several weeks later when Nwibe attended the village Ozo – Society meeting, with disgrace he was to be initiated as a member, his distinguished peers changed topic and discussed and denied Nwibe coveted title.
Preamble follows,
Today’s situation, Ugandans are demoralized, with poor service delivery. Which government can stand on her two legs and attribute its failure to saboteurs within the ruling system. They are letting down the regime on services delivery.
In 2013, while in Luweero triangle the president of the republic of Uganda, said it was high time to launch the soldier - led revamping of the area. This is when Afande Nalweyiso and Gen Saleh, who says “ he will retire because when he visited most places in the rural areas, was ashamed that for 30+ he found people in eastern Uganda in such DESTITUTE AND DISILLUSION POVERTY. But this is what we have told all the time General!
Gen Saleh .A, has threaten that this is his last contract. Due to the fact that many do not appreciate the projects initiated by the government. A lot has been sabotaged by the selfish government officials.
However, the solution would be to carefully monitor government projects with “us” the new breed. The school of thought, well executed is “professionalizing the army – scheme” has meant its targets. The UPDF success is entirely due to proper training and arming the troops before sending them to the battle field.
Witnesses to this is LRA, even with Sudan’s alleged support they could not handle the fire power and efficiency. Somalia is calmer than before the USA “black hawk down” - era, South Sudan too.
When we talk about these issues, we are taken as saboteurs, non- patriotic, yet by talking about these things we are actually patriotic. The checks and balances must be effective before NRM loses another big election as 2016 nears.
Don not condemn us to the docks by infiltrating our jobs, source of income, our houses, our land, so as to make us poor and regrettable, but have a listening ear and reading eye.
Case study of: - People’s Green Conservation Party - Forum .
Just more than a tea party, we are reformers.
As we discuss the ideologies, let’s look at these fundamentals and address them like this:-
1. Price Rise (Runaway food inflation has crippled household budgets and contributed to the overall inflationary trend, create Price Stabilization Fund instead of rewarding individuals with exorbitant court settlements to later run for failed presidential bids).
2. Employment and Entrepreneurship (Address Jobless Growth by the Government through the broader economic revival, priority to job creation and opportunities for entrepreneurship, Labor-intensive manufacturing, strengthen the traditional employment bases of agriculture, harness the opportunities provided by the up gradating of infrastructure etc).
3. Corruption (Corruption is a manifestation of poor Governance. Moreover, it reflects the bad intentions of those sitting in power. All pervasive corruption under the NRM - led Government has become a 'National Crisis'). We recognize Government IGG, Parliamentary committees, Auditor General Office, Anti-Corruption etc but all frustrated by the big shots)
4. Decision and Policy Paralysis (The country’s people departments have suffered a decade of maladministration and scams in addition to decision and policy paralysis; thus bringing growth and development to a grinding halt leading to a 'Governance deficit' swindle pension money, so sad!)
5. Poor Service Delivery (Wherever we go, we encounter bottlenecks. We experience it on a daily basis - in government offices for even the simplest of public services, in our courts buried in high pendency and so on).
6. Credibility Crisis (restore the credibility of, and trust the republic government, not with popularizing solo candidacy, but with infrastructure development etc.)
Let the players change the game plan, lets offer to the masses what we ought to do, and stop “against” politics of criticism and sabotage. Only way masses will hear our voices.
Stop the AGAINST voices and stand for the FOR mentality.
